(Correspondents: Chen Huafei, Li Xiongtao) On the afternoon of June 24, the graduation farewell party for the 2022 international students and the “Get to Know China - the last national condition education class” were held in the International Education School. Those who attended the event included Professor Yao Li, a Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC ZUEL Committee and Vice President of the university; Professor Xu Deyu, Assistant to the President and Head of the Department of International Exchange; Professor Hu Honghong, Dean of the Graduate School; Professor Jian Jisong, the Director of the LLM Education Center; Zheng Ying, Dean of the School of International Education; Qin Xiaoli and Wang Zhengjun, Vice Deans of the School of International Education and related teachers, as well as all the international graduates of the class of 2022. The meeting was chaired by Li Muzi, a teacher of Chinese as a foreign language.
Vice President Yao Li firstly gave a lecture themed as “Get to Know China - the last national condition education class”. On behalf of the university, she congratulated all the international graduates for successfully completing their studies and led them to review the unforgettable time of studying and living in ZUEL. Yao also guided them to be grateful for each other’s support during the fight against the epidemic, and to understand the original aspiration through the centennial celebration of the Communist Party of China. She hoped that the international graduates would continue to pay attention to China and take the initiative to tell the real China and the Chinese Communist Party they saw. Vice President Yao Li pointed out that a happy life has to be created by one’s own hands. She made three expectations for the international graduates: First, they should always adhere to the core of traditional Chinese culture of-honesty and integrity, self-improvement and hard work- as a code of conduct and a spiritual pursuit internalized in their hearts, so as to create a happy life with their own hands; second, they should be a person who knows gratitude, bring back the knowledge they learned in China, and then put it into practice to contribute to their countries. Third, they should be the messengers of friendship between the two countries, take up the important task of multicultural exchange, share a real China with the world, and make active efforts to build a common and prosperous pluralistic world.
The School also invited representatives of the supervisors of international students to send their best wishes to the graduates. Prof. Jian Jisong delivered a passionate graduation message, while Ms. Muzi Li also conveyed the blessings of Prof. Zhisheng Li and Prof. Hua Wang to the graduates on the spot.
Then, Dean Zheng Ying gave graduation wishes to the international graduates. She expressed her gratitude to the brave, kind and righteous international graduates by combining their stories in ZUEL, and hoped that the international graduates would continue to fulfill new dreams with unwavering faith and will; she expected the international graduates to be the messengers of communication between China and their countries and contribute to the economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Moba, an Afghan master’s student, made a speech on behalf of all the international graduates. He reviewed his three years in ZUEL, expressed his gratitude to the college, the university, Wuhan and China, and said that they would carry the trust of their alma mater, the knowledge they learned, the motive of knowing China and the friendship with China to their next stop, and would tell the story of ZUEL and China with practical actions.
After that, the leaders and teachers awarded the international alumni liaison certificates and graduation souvenirs to the international graduates. One by one, the international graduates took the stage to express their deep blessings to ZUEL. Along with the graduation video, the international students presented enthusiastic and joyful guitar singing and African dance performance, which brought the atmosphere of the farewell party to the climax.
May the international graduates carry the promise of ZUEL, become friendly messengers of Sino-foreign exchange, and sail away to the world.
