Feeling sad or left out? Is depression your new best friend?
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one feeling so!
Having the feeling of despair or ending this life are the two most common thoughts a sad soul has. Read the next few lines very carefully– “You are one of a kind, why would you waste this life being sad or grumpy? Live it, go out, have fun. Now is the time to live!!”
This is what I tell myself every time I feel low and believe me, it works (at least to some extent!)
For some, depression might be the separation from their loved ones, for some, it might be not getting that dream job. What’s your reason?
Numerous may be the reasons, but there’s simply one way to overcome depression- Love YOURSELF!
How difficult can it be to love your own self? Were you born to cry and crib? Nope, absolutely not! Then why waste even a single day crying. Here are my 8 big ways to overcome depression and live, love and laugh again.
1) Smile. Like a Lot!
Even if you have to fake it at times, smile, eventually you end up bringing out that natural smile and saving yourself your happiness.
2) Be Independent
Do you think that simply sharing your sad story with your loved ones would make you feel better? Well, it might. But then you have to be strong enough to take up your problems and dump them down. Don’t depend on anybody to come and rescue you from that insufferable pain, bla bla bla. Get up, work yourself out of that gloomy feeling.
Where most people say that stop thinking about what’s bothering you, I say think about it and then contemplate, whether this problem is bigger than your life and happiness? This is what I do best.
Think A LOT! And then, after a while, that problem stops bothering me because I was over it! Just Like That!
PS: I have a picture for every point, but I understand, you’re a busy person :p
That’s the best remedy to any problem , I bet! Traveling will not only change your environment but will also let you think with an open mind. You will be so engrossed in the beauty outside that you will overcome the pain inside!
5) Listen to Your Favorite Music
I listen to hardcore EDM and you might do that as well. It will make your feet do the talking!! Just a suggestion, avoid listening to any sad or slow songs as they make you feel nostalgic and that’s what you don’t want at that point of time!
6) Spend Quality Time
With your loved ones. When I’m upset, I have my two best friends by my side, the kid next door and my not so close “Poochiee”. I don’t know how, but whenever I’m a teeny weeny upset, these two creatures sense it and are available to alleviate the pain.
7) Do not Oversleep
What are you doing to yourself? Wasting the day sleeping? Ask me how I wish I could get a day off to have a fun day out enjoying the rain or shopping!! Oversleeping will simply make you lethargic and take away all that fun side of you. So, get up, get dressed or don’t, and do whatever makes you happy, but do not sleep more than the required hours!
Meeting new people or surrounded by people is not the only way of socializing! Walking down a busy lane is also socializing, eavesdropping, catching that aunty creating a scene at the market or simply glancing at the innocence of a street kid, this all is socializing my friend!
Folks, moreover, if you still feel low or this life appears meaningless to you, think of those two people who have compromised their entire life for you- your parents, that brother who has given up his sleep to see you sleep in peace, those friends who try hard to make you laugh to bring you out of that agony. You’re not the only one sad or done with life, there are many. So what should be done? Commit a crime? Kill yourself and let the ones who love you suffer? No, a strict no. If you have no reason to live, live for those who live for you, because without you, they’ll be living corpses, yearning for death. Live this beautiful life, some who want to, are not blessed with it.
So be grateful for the breathes you take and for the memories you make!
In the end, it’s the happiness that counts, so be happy and spread happiness around you!
If you have any other thing that has helped you or your loved ones to cope with depression, do share it!
Until Next Time.
